Our application

Have you ever organised a global event?

We have already organised three world conferences: 1990, 1947, 1922 and a World Jamboree in 1947. Several French National Scout Associations have already organised international events for up to 17,000 participants. Likewise, in 2016, we hosted the Roverway at Jambville with around 5,000 participants.

Why have so few goodies?

All our goodies are reusable and nice useful surprises await you at the French stand for the next scout event. We are thinking about the carbon footprint generated by our application to align with the Sustainable Development Goals (life on earth, climate change and life in the oceans).

This is how the priority for us is to promote oral exchanges and real meetings rather than the exchange of promotional items. We remain at your disposal if you have any questions about the application.

How do you get to Jambville?

The Jambville Scout Centre is in a village of the same name just 50 kilometres from Paris. Nearby is a train station which is directly connected to the Gare Saint-Lazare in Paris. In addition, the centre of Jambville is located 75 kilometres from Paris-Orly airport; 68 km from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and 60 km from Paris-Beauvais Airport. Bus transfer services will be arranged on the day of arrival and departure to fully cover the transportation of participants from the departure and arrival points to the centre.

Our venue

What is the Jambville Scout Centre?

The Jambville Scout Centre is a 15th-century castle with an exceptional park of 50 hectares of forest and meadows in the heart of the Vexin nature reserve. The centre has all the infrastructure necessary for the organisation of a conference and will meet our digital expectations (fibre, wifi, ...) but also logistics with a team of thirty permanent and one hundred volunteers who are used to organise such events every year. This team will be reinforced to organise the event. For more information, you can go to the article presenting the place: https://www.scoutisme-francais.fr/post/ch%C3%A2teau-de-jambville-scout-english

Do we have to camp?

NO! The 2023 World Scout Conference in France will be entirely “à la carte”. It is, of course, possible to camp and we encourage this dynamic. But we make sure that everyone can have their level of comfort and meet the specific needs of each by providing rooms or hotels located a few kilometres from the park. from Jambville.

Our Conference

Why do you want to change the conference format?

Our conference will be absolutely no different from the last conferences. It will offer the same level of comfort and welcome. Participants will have the same level of working comfort. In addition to the usual format, our conference seeks to return to basics with a proposal for camping, times of entertainment open to all in a natural place.

Can we go to Paris?

It would be a shame to travel to Paris without visiting the capital and eating good French pastries (yummy!).

That’s why a vigil will take place in Paris. In addition, we strongly invite you to visit Paris before or after the Conference. We have a lot of places to recommend to you!

Are there any security risks when doing the conference in the Paris region?

The park is secure and closed. In addition, during each event, teams of volunteers organise themselves to secure the site. Plus, a place of care will be set up by volunteers who are members of the NSOs. Finally, the nearest hospital is less than 10 kilometres away.

Our application in connection with the Sustainable Development Goals

Does your application meet the SDGs?

Since the start of our campaign, we have sought to limit the energy footprint. For this, we seek to establish a green communication, limiting waste and the excessive use of means of communication. Our bid logically fits into the Paris Agreements in 2016 or into the French campaign to host the 2024 Olympic Games.

How to make a comfortable conference respecting the SDGs?

As we have indicated, our Conference will be like the previous ones. In addition, each participant will have the opportunity to eat local and seasonal products but also to make everyday gestures for the environment. For more questions regarding our ecological proposal of the candidacy, check the following article: https://www.scoutisme-francais.fr/post/sustainable-world-conference-2023

Have you thought about organizing a solidarity action?

By solidarity action, we intend to lower the registration prices so that a maximum of OSN and their young participants can be present.
